after some weeks' absence, here i am again pouring out my two cents' worth on anything, through the depths of nothingness. and what a difference does an internet card make to holla up my musings ...

kudos to manny "pacman" pacquiao for knocking the lights out of erik morales. makes me ponder: for a brief time, filipinos around the world teamed up cheering for this modern-day hero. a very messianic performance dedicating his joust to a race desparately needing a charismatic saviour empowering an empoverished nation to bravely face the challenges in these trying times.

pero eto ang catch. amidst the celebration, the fireworks, the festivities of the pacquiao win has brought forth, eto na naman ang mga politiko na ma-eepal nakikisawsaw sa tagumpay ni manny. i heard a friend of mine while in a drinking session after the fight saying that chavit singson left off a 50 million peso bet dito sa pinas. then pagdating dun sa venue ng fight in vegas, where morales was leading the odds, naging patas na ang laban. millions of dollars na siguro ung parada ni chavit. lupet noh?

so eto na nga nanalo ang pacquiao, 'di magkamayaw ang mga pulitikong andun: ung asawa ni GMA, chavit, Lito Lapid (siguro hinamon nya si manny ng dwelo, since napatay na nya lahat ng mga kontrabida sa pelikula. trip naman nya ung real-life eksena), at madami pang ibang baon ang pork barrel na galing sa bulsa ng mga kawawang pinoy taxpayers na ginawa lamang pamusta sa laban para may pambili n naman ng mansion sa kung saang posh na subdivision dito. pagdating naman dito, megapapiktyur naman ang mayor lito atienza, along with his other cohorts (kim, robert ortega, na dapat wala dun kasi wednesday group sya ng that's entertainment eh friday un. yari sya ke kuya germs). after that, courtesy call naman ke GMA sa malakanyang, then motorcade na from manila to qc.

oh well. i've heard na pinepressure pa syang tumakbo for public office. believe me, yun ang pinaka wrong move ni manny pag nagkataon.
